Nestled between the Takitimu Mountains and the Southern Alps we at Connermara (Bev and Murray) offer genuine Kiwi hospitality when you choose to stay in one of our self-contained cottages.

We are born and bred Southlanders who enjoy travelling and meeting other genuine folk. We have been farming in Southland for over 40 years ( sheep, cattle, etc.) and now enjoy Deer Farming We farm various breeds of deer including Red. Wapiti, and Elk, and a few sheep and cattle.

The Angler's Arms

The Angler's Arms is situated in Manapouri and overlooks the beautiful Waiau River and Pearl Harbour. The Doubtful Sound departure point is just a 2 minute walk away and we can provide you with information about the many activities nd tours in Te Anau / Manapouri. Enjoy the 2 bedroom cottage with the finest of furnishings and an open plan design, or relax and enjoy a wine in our spacious aromatic garden.

Kitchen

The Connemara Farm Cottage

The cottage is situated on our Deer Farm just 8 mins drive from Manapouri, the gateway to Doubtful Sound and the Fiordland National Park. Enjoy the majestic mountain and farm views. This cottage sleeps up to 4 people and children are welcome by arrangement. Start your morning with a relaxing breakfast on the verandah, watching the deer and enjoying the mountain view and tranquility. Our farm bounds two excellent fishing rivers and Don is happy to pass on some local knowledge of the area and tips.

The Connemara Farm Cottage is the perfect place to make your base as you explore the untouched beauty of Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound. Be sure to visit the Manapouri Power Station which is truly a wonder of engineering and Southland is home to some of the best walking trails in New Zealand.
